I fully agree with the General when he says that India and the US must rebuild their relationship, however, IMO it needs to be in done on new terms as situation has changed and India needs to negotiate on their terms and not in the old limp Congress era dictates that the US would order. As long as the US understands, recognizes and keeps that in mind while reinstating new friendly and mutually beneficial terms.

US State Department and CIA will not stop playing their games at behest or request of inconsequential India. Given this fact, let them do what they are doing, work with Secretary of Defense and purchase what Indian army wants under Make in India. This will not solve anything because a) India refuses to join coalition of US and become rich like South Korea, Japan, etc b) India refuses to align with US foreign policy and US interests. c)India refuses US to provide logistics for its clandestine operations. Wherever India is in cross hair of US interests, sacrifices will have to be made!!! This is price of pursuing independent critical thinking. France pays this price.

    1. If India could have excellent relation with its colonizer UK, then why not Bangladesh develop good relations with Pakistan!!! After all, both are Islamic countries. Further, purpose of revolution is there is not for welfare of the people but power grab and enjoy it!!! We cannot ask logical questions. 2. We will have to protect ourselves assuming the worst will come out of Bangladesh. Both Pakistan and Bangladesh are our land neighbors and we will be affected by turmoil in these countries. We need to plan to stop mass illegal immigration else we would be swamped by them.

US, China ke tarha Russia bhi India ko ek market ke tarha dekhta hai for Russian oil and military hardware. Ye teeno ke paas Pakistan ke strategic value India se zyada hai. India ke strategic value zero hai. Pakistan is a strategic asset for both China and the US. For China Pakistan is useful in a two front war with India and also to waste Indian military resources in Kashmir by having Pakistani infiltrators at the Kashmir border. For the US Pakistan is like a watchtower to keep an eye on Russia and the middle east from Afghanistan/Iran to Saudi Arabia. For China and the US India is just a big market to expand their business interests. China on the consumer market front and the US in IT sector (cheap Indian IT workers) and for the sales of military hardware. For Pakistan both will bear economic loss if they have to, just to keep Pakistan as a viable entity.

Unfortunately, INDIA’s Foreign Policy has always been Passive and at Best Reactionary. When the Events happens in INDIA’s BACKYARD the Indian politicians seems incompetent to do anything before and are historically always back footed. The past conflicts with Communist China in 1962, then several wars with Islamic Pakistan were Started by the enemies of INDIA. Either the Indian intelligence is ineffective or unreliable to foresee the challenges ahead or the Indian political leaderships have been impotent in taking decisive decisions. Hopefully, the present crop of Indian Political leadership has shown confidence, however wish INDIA changes its Strategy in taking more proactive roles after the Islamic Bangladesh fiasco, with the inevitable question hanging whether Bangladesh PM sheikh hasina’s toppled from power could have been thwarted by India and its reputable intelligence??? Therefore, India Must revamp its strategies from its past reactionary actions After the event, to Proactive Policy.

India's total disregard to US's concerns after Russia's invasion of Ukraine is the reason why India-USA relations went burst. And, India not pushing enough in developing QUAD too added to the present scenario. If India really wants to have closer ties with US keeping China in mind, Non-align foreign policy such as equidistance between US/Russia wont succeed in anyway come what may. The dream of Economic Power is still a distant dream. Age old saying still remains true as a rock: "Riding two boats leads to disaster". Ponder on a fact: No western nation which is a Developed Nation today could do it by remaining Non-aligned!!

The importance of India for both US and China is based on commercial interest India being a big market. For both the importance of Pakistan is based on geo-political consideration. For the US to keep tabs on middle east from Afghanistan to oil rich Arabia and for China to counter India on the western front . Both will bear a loss to keep Pakistan intact as a political entity. With Modi’s stupid “Namaste Trump” move even Russia has distanced itself. All the countries from Mayanmar to Maldives are in China’s orbit. Thank illiterate Modi for this achievement. Keep dreaming about the coming Hindu rashtra/Akhand Bharat while keeping more than 800 million Indians barely alive on 5 kg rice. Jai SR.
